ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- As cold temperatures settle into the stateline ahead of winter, the Rockford Rescue Mission says it's in critical need of donations.
Rockford Rescue Mission says it sheltered more than 184 people on Wednesday night, many who were not prepared for the cold snap.
“These forecasts can be unbearable for those living on the streets,” said Executive Director, Sherry Pitney.
Organizers ask for coats, toilet paper, laundry detergent and coffee.
You can drop off donations on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The Rockford Rescue Mission shelter is located at 715 W. State Street.
