ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - The Rockford Rescue Mission says money is tight this time of year and the organization is calling on the community to help it continue to support thousands in our area.
Executive director Sherry Pitney says the rescue mission faces a financial shortfall and hopes with the community's help they can better prepare for a new year of continued programs.
In 2017, Rockford Rescue Mission served more than 130,000 meals and provided nearly 50,000 nights of shelter for those who don't have a place to sleep.
The rescue mission is in need of not only money but food staples, kitchen items, clothing, over-the-counter medicine and various other items.
