Rockford Fourth of July parade becomes tradition

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)--- The heat or the rain did not stop people from coming out and sporting their red, white and blue attire at the parade this year.

With some setting up along the parade route hours before the parade to many participating in the actual event. Rockford proved that they know how to celebrate the Fourth of July in style.

The parade began with motorcyclist leading the way. Mayor Tom McNamara also walked the parade along with the Rockford Fire department, the Winnebago county sheriff's office and many local organization.

"Watching the bikes, I love watching the motorcycles go by, it seems like every year there's more," says Betty Hada a life-long parade goer.
