There's an old saying, "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."
But one thing that's leaving Vegas and heading to Rockford is a national softball championship trophy.
There's an old saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. But a national softball championship trophy is leaving Vegas and heading to Rockford.
The tenth year was the charm for the Rockford Fire crew at the National Fallen Firefighter Tournament. Rockford Fire reeled off tourney wins over Cincinnati, Oceanside California and Cleveland.
In the semi-finals, Dan Keenan hits a three-run walk off home run on a 3-2 pitch with two outs to beat Westchester New York, 20-18. Rockford completed the deal with a 10-run win in Thursday's championship to claim the title.
Joe Hamblock, who chief Dan Zaccard called the designated home run hitter, was named tournament MVP.
All of the tournament proceeds go toward the Fallen Firefighter Foundation in Maryland.
