ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Rockford City Council voted 11-to-1 Monday night to send the Hard Rock Casino proposal to the Illinois gaming board. One alderperson abstained in the vote.
The Hard Rock Proposal beat out two other proposals to earn the Council's recommendation. The Hard Rock Casino, which would be built at the sight of the old Clock Tower Resort on East State, was already endorsed by the Rockford Park District, RACVB and City of Rockford staff.
The city had until October 25 to submit a proposal to the Illinois Gaming Board.
