Rockford Art Museum series offers closer look into curator's job

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- If you've ever wondered what goes into putting an exhibition together at the Rockford Art Museum, "Coffee with a Curator" is the series for you.

The event allows the museum's curator Carrie Johnson to give museum members and guests a behind-the scenes-look of her responsibilities as curator.

Johnson will teach others how she works with local artists and puts the art shows together. She says the series is a way for her to engage with guests.

"It's a really fun way for me to talk about how fun my job is," said Johnson. "Getting to meet artists and coming up with different ideas for shows, I think it's just really fun for people to come in and hear what a curator does."

The series will also teach how an exhibit is set up from the layout of the design to the hanging up the artwork.
