LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) -- A group of young professionals is looking to excel in their careers by giving back to their community by supporting the fight against domestic violence.
The Rockford Area Realtors Young Professionals Network dedicated its project of focus this year to raising funds for the Family Justice Center. The group kicked off its efforts with a guest bartending night at Tad's on the Rock where 23 News Anchor Shannon Kelly was one of the celebrity bartenders. The group typically picks a beautification project to focus on but this year the network wanted to do something on a bigger scale to make as big of an impact as they can.
"It helps networking with each other, getting to know new people and then I always tell people, for Rockford being the place where you live, this is some place that if you want to make a difference, you can. We try a lot to give back to the community and we really support the domestic violence initiative, so we think it's something really important that's going to make a difference,” said Chair for the Rockford Area Realtor’s Young Professionals Network Britany Schultz.
