ROCK FALLS, Ill. (WIFR) - A Rock Falls attorney is in custody after being charged with criminal sexual assault of a client.
Illinois State Police arrested 63-year-old Michael Lancaster after a victim said she was sexually assaulted by Lancaster in his office at 15 East Third Street in Sterling.
After an investigation, authorities executed search warrants at Lancaster's Sterling office and his Rock Falls home, and took Lancaster into custody Thursday afternoon.
Lancaster has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of unlawful restraint. He is in the Whiteside County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Lancaster has been practicing law in Whiteside County for over 30 years. The Whiteside County State’s Attorney has requested the Rock Island County State’s Attorney handle the case to avoid any perception of a conflict of interest.
