Rochelle class helps students gain skills in robotics and coding

ROCHELLE, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rochelle High School offers students a class that goes beyond the core cirriculum to prepare them for the future.

One of the school's class specializes in robotics and coding. Students learn how to create and write program that controls a robot.

Freshman John Green says he always had an interest in robots and believes this course could serve him well in the future.

"Being able to program one is a skill I can use future on in life," says Green.

Technology department chairman Kurt Wolter says there will be many jobs in robotics in the future and it's his responsibility to prepare students for the industry.
