Rockford, Ill (WIFR) -- The Rodeway Inn & Suites faces $15,000 in damages after an early morning fire Thursday.
Rockford Fire officials say they were called to the hotel in the 3900 block of 11th Street around 1:00 a.m. and upon arrival, saw flames and smoke coming out from a lower level hotel room in the back of the building.
No one was in the room at the time of the fire and no one was hurt.
The room where the fire started is significantly damaged, and adjacent rooms and hallways also sustained smoke damage. The back section of the hotel was vacant at the time, and it is going to remain closed until repairs are completed.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
