River Bluff nurse receives Daisy Award

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) -- Recognizing hard work is something one stateline nursing home doesn't take lightly, honoring their hardest working nurses on staff is their privilege and honor.

The Daisy Award is a national honor given to nurses who go above and beyond to make a difference in their patients’ health care experience. River Bluff Nursing Home had seven nurses on their staff nominated for the award with one taking home the prestigious honor. Jody Schuld has worked with River Bluff for thirty-one years and won after being nominated by her fellow staff and patients.

"She's well liked because she does touch each resident in their own way. Like Jerry, one of the residents, says she walks in the room and she lights up the room and he calls her sunshine,” said director of quality improvement at River Bluff, Suzanne Delaney.
