Residents are recovering after a fire destroys part of an apartment building in Janesville Sunday afternoon.
The fire started on the upper balcony of the apartment complex located on the 2800 block of Holiday Drive around 3:30 p.m.
Officials say there was fire damage to a third of the building's units. No residents were injured but one firefighter was sent to the hospital with a cut to his hand.
"Hopefully by later tonight we can let the residents go get their stuff. Everyone is displaced here. Red Cross is on scene helping along with swept giving rehab and water for firefighters on scene," said Battalion Chief Ronald Bomkamp.
No word on the cost of damages and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
