ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Illinois was recognized among the top states for teachers in a new WalletHub report.
Illinois was named the 6th best state for teachers in the report.
The state was recognized for having the second-best teachers' income growth potential, seventh-best average salary for teachers and ninth-best teacher safety.
Illinois also ranked among the Top 20 states in public school spending per student (12), quality of school system (16) and academic and work environment (16).
North Dakota was named the best state for teachers, while Arizona finished last in the report.
