WalletHub named Illinois the 35th best state to start a business in a recent report.
The report used data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, comparing 50 states based on access to cash, skilled workers, and affordable office space among other factors.
Illinois ranked 40th in business costs and 43rd for business environments. However, the state was recognized for having the eighth best access to resources.
Texas was tabbed the top state to start a business, while Rhode Island finished last.
