Police looking for suspect in two Rockford bank robberies

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rockford Police are working to identify a robbery suspect from a two separate bank robbery incidents.

Around 2 p.m. Monday, police report the suspect attempted to rob the BMO Harris Bank at 228 S. Main Street in Rockford. No money was taken before he fled. Later that afternoon, police believe the same suspect robbed Illinois Bank and Trust at 308 W. State Street. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash. No weapon was displayed and no one was injured in either incident.

The suspect, who was captured on surveillance video, is described as a black male, approximately 35-40 years old, 6’1”, 230 pounds, last seen in a grey jacket and a red baseball hat with a tear in the front.
