Rockford man arrested for Gander Outdoors burglary

UPDATE: Police have arrested a man in connection to a burglary at Gander Outdoors in Rockford Friday morning.

During the course of the investigation, officers had contact with the suspect later identified as 31-year-old James Wise of Rockford.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office have charged Wise with one county of burglary.

He is currently being held in the Winnebago County jail.

Around 4:40 a.m. Friday, Rockford Police responded to Gander Outdoors located at 3068 McFarland Road in reference to an alarm.

Through further investigation, it was learned the alarm was valid and a burglary occurred. The lone suspect gained entry through the front doors, went back into the gun area, tampered with a gun case, and fled the business on foot. It is unknown if any guns or other merchandise were taken.

Police are looking for a white male, medium build, wearing a blue hooded jacket, black t-shirt, blue pajama pants, and black shoes.
