ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Good news for residents who have Planet Fitness memberships! Planet Fitness said all accounts are suspended while gyms are closed during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. This means that members will not be charged while their gyms are closed.

Some states, including Illinois and Wisconsin beginning Tuesday have mandated that gyms close. All Planet Fitness locations are closed at this time, regardless if the location was in an area where gyms were not ordered to close.

Members who have been billed will see an adjustment on their billing cycle when the fitness centers reopen.

Members who have paid for a year will have the end date of their membership adjusted to reflect the days the gyms were closed. You can see the official Facebook post from Planet Fitness on Friday announcing this measure below.

Planet Fitness has locations in the Stateline in Loves Park, Rockford and Beloit.
