Pedestrian hit by van in Beloit, suffers life-threatening injuries

BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) -- The City of Beloit Police Department is investigating a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident that occurred at 6:33 p.m. Monday on Pleasant Street just south of Portland Avenue.

The pedestrian was walking in the roadway on Pleasant Street south of the crosswalk when he was hit by a van.

The accident remains under investigation.

The pedestrian is a 49-year-old Beloit male who was transported to Mercy Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the van remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The identity of the pedestrian and the driver will not be released at this time.
