DIXON, Ill. (WIFR) -- Parents from Reagan Middle School in Dixon received a note on a change that would separate boys and girls from the same lunch period.

The note, submitted from one parent to 23 News, says "boys will report to the cafeteria first during each lunch period to eat," then "transitioning girls to the cafeteria approximately 12 minutes later."

According to the note, the change is expected to be temporary. It will allow the school to "supervise students appropriately" and "provide a safe environment" while the school looks to add more staff to the lunch period.

23 News has reached out to Reagan Middle School regarding the note. We have not yet hard back upon request for comment.
