ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Updated: Jan. 14, 2019, 11:50 a.m.

Two Rockford women were arrested after police say one was stabbed and the other was pepper sprayed in a fight last week.

Alicia Houston, 28, and Danielle Biggs, 25, are accused of the fight, which led to a disorderly conduct complaint on Jan. 9.

Police reported to 1005 Hess Court and learned Houston was pepper sprayed. Officers say Biggs later took herself to a hospital with minor injuries after being stabbed.

Biggs told police she was hurt at the same location where they found Houston at Hess Court. Police say she had an empty bottle of pepper spray.

Houston was arrested Friday on charges of mob action and aggravated battery with a knife. Biggs turned herself in Sunday and was charged with mob action.

Biggs and Houston are being held in Winnebago County Jail. They are considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.

Police say two women are recovering after one was pepper sprayed and another was stabbed Wednesday night in west Rockford.

Officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at 1005 Hess Court shortly before midnight. Police say one victim was suffering from being pepper sprayed.

While investigating, police say another woman walked into a local hospital with minor injuries from a stab wound. The woman told police she was stabbed by another woman in the area and had an empty bottle of pepper spray.

Officers say the victims gave conflicting reports of what happened and continue to investigate the complaint.
