UPDATE: Rockford man killed in single-car crash near Byron

UPDATE: OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – The man involved in a single car crash near Byron on Monday night has been identified as 32-year-old Jason Larson of Rockford.
Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Byron Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident around 8:46 p.m. Monday on Illinois Route 72, just west of Byron.
Police say Larson was driving eastbound on Illinois Route 72 when he drove off the north side of the roadway.
The car traveled approximately 300 feet in the ditch before sliding sideways and hitting a tree.
Larson was the only one in the car. He was ejected from the car and pronounced dead on the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.

OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) -- The Ogle County Coroner confirms one person is dead after a crash on Route 72 near Byron on Monday night.
Details are limited at this time. The Ogle County Sheriff's Dept. is still investigating the crash. At this time authorities say they were called to the scene for a single-car crash.
The victim died at the scene. The victim's identity has not yet been released.
