Standoff suspect faces weapons charges

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) -- Updated February 19, 2020 6:30 p.m.

The man police say is responsible for a six hour standoff now faces weapons charges.

Investigators say 26-year-old Isaac Parker and his girlfriend got into a dispute at a home in the 2400 block of 25th Street. Officers say another person tried to break up the dispute but Parker pointed a gun at him and told him to leave.

When officers got to the scene no one answered the door. The SWAT team was then dispatched. Parker surrendered around 4 a.m.

Police searched the home and found several guns.

Parker is charged with aggravated assault, no FOID and battery.


25th Street in Rockford is cleared after a man barricaded himself in his house with one other person for six hours.

A 26 year old man is now in custody, and Rockford Police say no one was hurt.
