One billion pounds of cargo lands at Rockford's airport
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Chicago Rockford International Airport sets a new milestone for cargo landing in the stateline.
RFD says so far in 2017 more than one billion pounds of cargo have landed on the tarmac. That's a 48% increase over all of 2016.
The airport says ABX and UPS increasing their day-to-day operations led to the massive rise in cargo. The change has also led to the creation of nearly 2,300 jobs at RFD to keep up with activity.
