One arrested, one wanted after shots fired at man in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- One man was arrested and another is wanted for allegedly firing shots at a man while he was driving in Rockford.

Ahmari Cooper (pictured left), 19, is behind bars, Cortez Wilson (pictured right), 22, remains at large.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 900 block of Acorn Street around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, was driving in the area when Cooper and Wilson allegedly fired shots at him.

Officers obtained warrants on Thursday set at $500,000.

Cooper and Wilson were both charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm. Cooper is being held at the Winnebago County Jail.

Both are considered innocent unless proven guilty by the court of law.
