ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – It’s been one year since 34-year-old Josh Jamerson was murdered at a New Year’s Eve party at Cliffbreakers in Rockford.

The man that police believe is responsible for Jamerson's death is scheduled to appear in court next week.

Jamerson was one of four people who were shot on the 4th floor of the Rockford business after a fight had broken out at the party.

31-year-old Sean Burks turned himself in last month in connection with the shooting. He faces 32 counts of first-degree murder and multiple other weapon charges.

If convicted he could get up to life in prison.

Burk appears in court on January 16th.
