ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)--- With the official start of summer only a few months away, organizers of Old Settlers Day are gearing up for the festival season.

"OMG It's OSD's Epic Party which is going to be our kickoff event this year, we're so excited, we have so many things going on," says the festival's marketing and advertising chair, Monique Weaver.

The kickoff event has many already anticipating what's to come.

"Bands are defiantly changing, I like that they're adding more of old rock stuff rather than just the country," says festival goer, Sarah Baines.

"I look forward to the elephant ears because you can't find them anywhere else," says Rockton resident, Beth-Ann Ward.

Whether you go to OSD for the music of the food, one thing is for sure, the community is excited to have a preview of a festival they grew up attending.

"We're just hoping that everybody comes out, get's excited for summertime, I think everybody is ready to be warm and enjoy this fun event that happens on the River front," says Weaver.
