Officials: 500 homes affected by flooding in Winnebago County

More than 500 homes were affected by flooding in Winnebago County over the past few weeks.

According to officials, flooding impacted 502 homes in Winnebago County. These are the numbers broken down by cities and villages:

Machesney Park – 316

Rockford – 92

Roscoe Township – 40

Unincorporated Rockford – 25

Shirland/Harrison – 19

Loves Park – 8

Rockton – 2

Residents in these homes will receive a delayed tax bill from the Winnebago County Treasurer with an extended payment date.

The Winnebago County Emergency Operations Center will create assessment teams and coordinate clean-up plans for some areas as soon as Saturday.
