ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - 23 News has learned that ROCK House Officer Eric Thurmond will be transitioning from that role in the near future.

A police spokesperson confirmed that Thurmond will be moving out and a new officer will take over as a live-in Rock House officer at the 15th Street location. It has not been released when that transition will take place.

Officer Thurmond has been on paid administrative leave for four months. But when asked why, the spokesperson said the department cannot comment because it's personnel related.

Thurmond has been one of Rockford's most high-profile officers and has been part of the Rock House program since it kicked off in 2017.
