New food and music festival comes to Freeport this fall

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) -- A new food and music festival comes to Freeport this fall.

Freeport will host the "Eats and Beats" festival in September.

The two-day events will feature live music from local and regional bands, in addition to food from various nonprofit groups. More than 20 Freeport area nonprofit organizations are planning ahead for the festival.

Performing bands include Pearl Jam Tribute Chicago, Hello Weekend and other local artists. Proceeds from food sales will be divided among the participating nonprofit organizations.

You can attend the festival in downtown Freeport on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28. Admission costs $3, but children five and under can attend for free.
