ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- In just a matter of weeks, a new burger restaurant will open on Rockford's northwest side where the old Boomer's used to be.

Stockyard Rock Burger Bar is expected to open at the end of May in the 900 block of W. Riverside Boulevard.

The restaurant will have a rock theme and owners say to expect to hear rock music playing when you step in the door. There will also be live bands on the weekends.

One of the owners, Andy Rio, is no stranger to the bar and restaurant business. He says Stockyard Rock Burger Bar will have a different feeling than his other businesses, The District, R.B.I. and Onyx Bar and Grill.

"It's definitely a different brand that we're bringing on", said Rio. "The other restaurants, they have basically everything on the menu from breakfast, lunch, dinner and catering, but here we're going to focus on the burgers.

Rio says the restaurant will have 15 different burgers, a few salads and chicken sandwiches. The restaurant will also have space for video games, ping pong and possibly virtual golf.
