ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- The power of political action comes to Rockford, as a group of stateline business owners and community leaders raise money to support causes important to the area this November.

"We wanted to create an organization, a sustainable organization, that can help contribute to that process", says Chairman of the Rockford Regional Good Government PAC, Peter Provenzano. "Finding candidates, helping them get elected and helping them do the public's will as far as executing our community's vision and values."

The seven member board of directors of the new Rockford Regional Good Government PAC plans to raise $100,000 in the next two weeks to weigh in on the November election as well as city elections next February and April.

The nonpartisan PAC will decide who locally to support following a questionnaire and face-to-face interview with the candidates. They will also look at past voting records.
