The holidays are coming early for Northern Illinois students. They will soon be able to enjoy the newly remodeled first floor of the Holmes Student Center.
"We wanted somewhere as students pass through to have not only a place where they can gather, but we want this to feel like home and that was an important element for us."
The refurbished space features restaurants, a convenience store, a new bookstore, office space, and almost 20,000 square feet devoted to areas where students can relax and spend time.
With a new Starbucks on campus, you can grab a coffee to get you through a busy day.
Senior Ibrahim Zidan commutes almost 2 hours to get to school. He is one of the first students to get a look at the new space and can't wait to utilize the new facilities.
