Museum hopping fun at Rockford's Culture Crawl

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) ----- Designed to share the unique aspects of the city, visitors went museum hopping on Saturday during Rockford's Culture Crawl.

Each location featured a creative and educational activity for kids and family members. Admission is free at most locations but if visitors went to each of the seven locations to get a stamp, they could win a prize.

Some participating sites included the Discovery Center Museum, Burpee Museum of Natural History and the Ethnic Heritage Museum.

"Well, we are one of the only museums around the area that has a live reptile and amphibian exhibit where we have different types of snakes and geckos and different morphs of different things. Nothing else, besides maybe in Chicago or Milwaukee will have something like this," said Alex Merry.
