ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockford man wanted by police for failure to appear attacks a police K-9 during his arrest.
Shortly after midnight Thursday, a K-9 led officers to an empty home in the 1000 block of Haskell Avenue.
When officers tried to arrest 32-year-old Nathan Roach, he struck the K-9. They also recovered a sawed-off shotgun from the suspect.
Roach is charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, criminal trespass to property, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition, contempt of court, and striking a police dog.
He was taken to the Winnebago County Jail.
