Man steals jewelry, worth thousands of dollars, from Rockford Sam's Club

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A man took off with jewelry and damaged a display case Tuesday morning at a Rockford Sam's Club.

Police say the stolen jewelry was worth thousands of dollars.

A burglary alarm went off at the Sam's Club, located at 7151 Walton Street, around 1:30 a.m. Police say a set of doors was forced open while no one was inside.

The suspect was described as a white man, six feet tall and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, a gray sweatshirt or jacket, blue jeans with holes in them and black shoes.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect vehicle, which was a black, four-door sedan.
