Man charged in Winnebago Street shooting

Twenty-two-year-old Thomas Pouncy faces charges in connection to the shooting in the 700 block of North Winnebago Street Thursday morning.

A 28-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Pouncy is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and no FOID.

Police say the incident does not appear to be random.


A man was shot Thursday just west of downtown Rockford and sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, was shot multiple times in the 800 block of North Winnebago.

Multiple units reported to the scene after reports of shots fired.
