Man sentenced to 12 years in prison for CherryVale Mall shooting

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) -- Twenty-nine-year-old Marchello Johnson of Rockford is sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of aggravated discharge of a firearm in a shooting at CherryVale Mall last year.

On March 18, 2018, police were called to the mall for reports of a shooting. Officers say shots were fired between two cars outside the Barnes and Noble.

No one was hurt.

Johnson was one of three men charged in the shooting.
