Man sentenced after heroin, stolen gun found at Belvidere Oasis traffic stop

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Chicago man was sentenced to 10.5 years in prison after authorities found heroin and a stolen gun during a traffic stop at the Belvidere Oasis.

Jagunath Jackson, 33, pleaded guilty to two felony charges.

Boone County Sheriff's deputies stopped Jackson at the Belvidere Oasis in November 2018. Deputies recovered 24 grams of heroin and a stolen .380 caliber pistol after searching the car.

Jackson's charges include possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a stolen firearm.
