Man sentenced 20 years for Rockford home invasion involving weapons

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) -- A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday for his role in a Rockford home invasion involving weapons last year.

Christopher Walker, 46, plead guilty to one count of home invasion that stems from Aug. 14, 2018.

Rockford Police were called to the 2800 Block of Lapey Street. The victim says he was inside the his home with Walker when two women forced their way into the home with weapons and demanded money.

In a follow-up investigation, authorities determined Walker worked with the women to orchestrate the home invasion.

Walker will also be on mandatory supervised release for three years after his release from prison.
