Jerrod M. White, 29, faces a felony and misdemeanor for bail jumping. He was also charged with fleeing an officer, operating after revocation, and reckless driving-cause great bodily harm.

Around midnight, police tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at Wisconsin and Henry avenues. The driver, later identified as White, reportedly ran a stop sign, then crashed into a vehicle at Harrison and Woodward avenues.

Police say White's car then crashed into a gas line on Harrison Avenue. The other car, upon impact, hit a pole and ended up on its roof.

The gas leak prompted several evacuations in the area, including homes along Park Avenue, Wisconsin Avenue, Clary Street and White Avenue in Beloit.

White and a driver in the hit vehicle were treated for minor injuries at a hospital. Beloit police say White is now in custody.
