ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Six Flags and Magic Waters are teaming up for the Solar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics.

Athletes from Special Olympics will jump into Hurricane Harbor on June 21. People who fundraise ahead of the Solar Plunge can also cool off on the first official day of summer.

To plunge, participants must pay a $25 registration fee and raise funds. Those who raise more funds will have the opportunity for more event-day perks.

Magic Waters says it will ice to the waters to add some chill to the Solar Plunge. You can raise funds for Special Olympics through Wednesday, June 19 to qualify for the plunge.
