(WIFR) -- With rain and humid weather dragging into summer, some stateline communities are spraying for mosquitoes Tuesday night.
Clarke Mosquito will be spraying in the villages of Machesney Park and Roscoe on Tuesday.
Machesney Park will be sprayed between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m., while Roscoe will be sprayed between 8:30 p.m. and 2 a.m.
If you have any questions about spraying in your area, you can contact the Clarke Mosquito Hotline at 1-800-942-2555.
The Environmental Protection Agency offers the following tips to help limit pesticides.
-If possible, remain inside or avoid the area whenever spraying takes place and for about 30 minutes after spraying.
-Close windows and doors, and turn off window air conditioning units or close their vents to circulate indoor air before spraying begins. Window and air-conditioner vents can re-opened about 30 minutes after spraying.
-Pick homegrown fruits and vegetables you expect to eat soon before spraying takes place. Rinse homegrown fruits and vegetables thoroughly with water before cooking or eating them.
-Cover outdoor tables and play equipment before spraying or wash them off with detergent and water after they have been sprayed.
