Stateliners head to southern border to help migrants

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)--- Rockford attorney Rene Hernandez traveled to Harlingen, Texas nearly two months ago.

Hernandez volunteered through Pro Bar, an organization offering legal help to migrants at the border. He processed a total of 104 cases. All of the cases were migrant teen boys.

Hernandez details interviewing 45 kids everyday but regardless of all the work, he says he plans on returning.

"The more I read about it, it just internally it started bothering me that something needs to be done, Hernandez said. "Then, coincidentally I received an email from the American Bar Association looking for volunteers to go down to Harlingen."
