Local pastors relay a message amidst of church division

ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)--- The United Methodist general conference passed the Traditional plan and rejected the One Church plan that would have allowed openly gay pastors and same sex marriages.

The Traditional plan enforces the Book of Discipline's 1972 statement, "...homosexuality and consider this practice incompatible with Christian teaching."

Some saying the new plan is unconstitutional and unfair toward the LGBTQ community.

"I think it's very restrictive, there are elements in that plan that break our own constitution," says Pastor Jeff Brace from Capron United Methodist church.
