ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)--- Andco Kitchens & Baths, Inc. has developed a 90 year legacy in the Stateline making it a pillar with deep roots in the Rockford community.

Its history dates back to 1928 when Andco began as CE Anderson Electric Company. The company sold appliances like washers, vacuums and radios.

It was not until 1956 when a new generation of family partners took over that the focus shifted to cabinetry and kitchen appliances.

"After World War II, they found there was a need for premade cabinets, usually builders would build their own," says Paul Johnson, now owner of Andco.

The company expanded over the years and Johnson eventually bought the company in 1995. It was then Johnson that decided on opening a show room on Perryville Road.

"It's a great location, and that was one of the best moves that we actually did because it kind of saved the company," says Johnson.

Johnson also says that he is excited for what is to come in the next ten years and looks forward to celebrating 100 years.

Andco Kitchens & Baths, Inc. is located on the 500 block of Perryville Rd.
