ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)--- With a total of 17 known investigations around President Trump's administration, the Mueller investigation report is expected to be released to the public.
In the midst of all the investigations, House Democrats have started to conduct congressional hearings. The first to deliver a testimony was President Trump's ex lawyer, Michael Cohen.
17th district congress person Cheri Bustos says ultimately she want the truth to come from all of this.
"I think when you ask what is the ultimate goal with investigations, we all probably come from a different place, I can tell you where I come from. and that the truth ought to be our guiding light," says Bustos.
On the other hand, Republicans feel that investigations and hearings have been taking attention away from more pressing issues.
"it's frustrating because then people look at that and give them concern but this is just something that's going on for many many years and nothing is really going to change," says Illinois state senator Dave Syverson.
