DURAND, Ill (WIFR) -- They went hog wild at halftime of tonight's Durand High School basketball game, as three members of the community puckered up to a pig, all in the name of charity.
At first the crowd was supposed to decide who should smooch the squealer between the high school principal, the Durand Police Chief, and the high school football coach. As it turned out all three ended up doing it. And they raised enough bacon to purchase a grain rescue tube for the Durand Fire Department.
The Durand FFA Adviser and Agriculture Teacher, Emily Newcomer, spoke with us, "I’m so excited and so grateful that our community is here and has been supporting us. And that the fire department is gonna get this equipment and that we'll have this in our community."
