ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) -- During record breaking low temperatures, Just Breathe 815 took to the streets to help those who had nowhere to go. Kevin Ware drove all over town handing out cold weather gear and chili and even driving people to warming centers. The organization also provided a new bed and other necessities to a young boy in need thanks to donations from local businesses.
“I did not know people like this were out there who could help like this and just, it's amazing,” said Skyler Border who received donations from Just Breathe 815.
“It was so cold and we want to meet the people where they are and get them to shelters and we didn't want our kids and our young adults to be out on the streets on one of the coldest days in Rockford,” said Founder of Just Breathe 815 Kevin Ware.
