ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR)--- The Rockford community got together for a special dinner held by Just Breathe 815 honoring the mothers of this community with a home cooked meal.
The roast beef dinner included mashed potatoes, gravy, a vegetable, tossed salad, rolls, drinks, homemade desserts, and good company.
The idea is to make sure all moms in the area are honored on this special day.
The dinner was served from 3 to 5 pm. Organizers says this event would not have been possible without the help of volunteers and the community coming together.
"Being together then there's nobody by themselves, there's no one without and you can bring people that are having a rough day because maybe loss or something in their lives," says Beth Ann Lindhe.
Fellowship and making sure no one is left behind is the core of the community mother's day dinner.
