Jefferson High School locked down, students confronted with airsoft gun

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Jefferson High School issued a brief lockdown after three students were reportedly confronted by three people with an airsoft gun.

Rockford police told Rockford Public Schools that the suspects were in a vehicle in the school parking lot around 12:15 p.m.

The students promptly entered the building to inform staff and Rockford police.

RPS 205 says no one was hurt. All students and staff are safe, and the lockdown has been lifted. The school day will continue at normal hours.
